Tanner is a promising young Hardrocker with a lot of athletic ability. He took his high school football team to the state quarterfinals and finished with a 9-3 record. He also received first team all state free safety and third team all state quarterback. As a junior he was second team all metro cornerback. When not playing football, Tanner likes to mess around with the guitar and enjoys fly fishing and golf.

Matt was brought in the Hardrocker program for his speed. An accomplished track runner, Matt has Top 10 state finishes in the 100-meter and 200-meter dashes and was part of the 4x400 team that finished second at state as well. Matt will be featured mainly on special teams and in the defensive secondary.

Marshall comes in with a great frame to play the quarterback position. He will be a real asset to the team adding depth to the roster and competing and pushing his teammates.

Jonathan redshirted his first year for the Hardrockers. He also comes in this year trim and fit. He has deceptive speed and has outstanding athletic ability to be a playmaker for the Hardrocker squad. He has been clocked running the 40-yard dash at 4.75 seconds, can bench 350 pounds, can squat 435 pounds and has a vertical jump of 26.8 inches. He's earned first team all conference, first team all league and scholar athlete of the year. He comes from a small Californian town and enjoys all kinds of sports. He also plays the guitar.

Houston was an exceptional football player for the Century High School Patriots the past four years. He helped his team to a 7-4 mark as a senior. Bashus competed as a wide receiver and as a defensive back for Century High School.

Shelby was a three-letter athlete in high school, earning the honor for football, basketball and track. During his football career, Shelby has earned all conference honors and was named the Senior of the Year by his teammates. He also is a member of the National Honors Society.

Joseph has a lot of potential and shows a lot of promise on both sides of the ball. He has the speed and height to play as a wide receiver and the physical ability to be a linebacker as well. As a freshman he will provide depth and competition on the Hardrocker roster.

Trevor accumulated 1,341 yards during his high school senior season and scored 26 rushing touchdowns on 149 carries. He also collected 93 yards on six passes to go along with one TD reception. Trevor was named MVP of his team as well as the league MVP. He was also selected First Team All League on offense as a running back and as a linebacker for defense. Not only that, but Moheit also scored the fifth most points in the state of California.

Matt redshirted his first season at SD School of Mines and after adding 20 pounds in the off-season, he appears ready to step up and compete at the linebacker position. He played high school football at Skyview High School in Billings, Mont.

Mitchell comes the Hardrockers with an impressive high school resume. He was the captain of his high school team and earned all-conference honors three years in-a-row and all-state linebacker two years in-a-row. He also received Academic all-state honors as well. Mitchell's dad was his high school coach and he has a brother who played basketball for Northern State University in Aberdeen, S.D.

Jess brings a lot to the Hardrocker offense. He is a two-year letter winner and first team All-American honoree. Jess loves to rock climb and says it's the rush that has him hooked. He also gets very stir crazy if he's cooped up in the same place for too long.

Anthony isn't your typical running back but he uses that to his advantage catching opponents off guard with his lighting speed and determined work ethic. He will add depth to the running back corp. for SDM. Anthony earned all-region honorable mention honors in high school.

Rod joined the Hardrockers back in the spring of 2008 and has had extra time to learn and absorb the 'Rockers' offensive schemes and systems. Rod lists his brother as his biggest impact on his athletic career for his inspiration and encouragement he provide.

Jordan was an iatrical part of his high school team's offense. He was a team captain during the 2008 campaign and was also a two-time all-conference selection as well as tying the Parkston school record for longest touchdown run this past season at 95 yards. Jordan is also a standout athlete in other sports as well, including being a exceptional poll vaulter during track season.

Dale comes to the Hardrocker team all the way from North Pole, Alaska. His mother and father are both former SD School of Mines graduates and Dale hopes to follow in their footsteps.

Dakota has been a member of the Julian High School Eagles for the past four years. During his senior year, he helped his team finish with a 7-4 record. As a running back, Savage carried the ball 202 times in 2008 and racked up 1,517 yards and scored nine touchdowns. He averaged 7.5 a carry and tallied 137.9 yards per game. As a receiver, Savage has two TD catches and had 12 receptions for 177 yards on the year. He earned First team all-league honors and was team MVP all four seasons as well as the league MVP.

Better known to as Brock Blankenshin, this talented young athlete has had the opportunity to play football overseas, competing in Spain, Italy, England, Germany and Holland from 2006-2009.Brock's parents work for the Dept. of Defense. Brock has a big list of accomplishments, including: three time all-Europe linebacker, four time all-conference linebacker, all Europe running back this past season and the 2009 European Bench Press Champion in the football heavyweight division lifting 340 pounds. As a senior Brock tallied 947 yards rushing, 94 tackles, 13.5 sacks, two interceptions and 34 tackles for a loss.

He recorded 140 tackles as a senior and was named defensive player of the year by his team. In his spare time, Garrett enjoys building rustic furniture, gun cabinets, welding, hunting, fishing, dirt biking and bow fishing.

Brian competed for the Riverheads High School Gladiators where his team was crowned state champions during his sophomore and junior years. As a senior, Freed was a team captain and was a first team all-district and second team all-region selection. As a junior he earned first team all-district, first team all-city and first team all-county honors and was second team all-region. Away from football, Brian is into motorcycling, skiing and shooting.

As a high school player, Taylor earned a number of accomplishments. He was named to the District 24-5A first team as an offensive lineman (center), earned the team's Most Valuable OL Award, was a two-year letterman and also played on special teams as well as a defensive tackle, was a Texas Academic All-District selection and in 2008 helped take his team into the Texas 5A Div. 1 playoffs where they lost in overtime to the No. 5 ranked team in the state.

Russell is another interesting prospect for the Hardrockers. He is a great-sized offensive lineman that should step up and take the place of those upperclassmen lost to graduation. Russell finished his senior year 12-1, CIF runners-up and league champions. Russell was named to the first team as a lineman.



#73	Wyatt Hunter-Johnson	Freshman

Wyatt will be a two-sports athlete at the South Dakota School of Mines, playing of the football field as well as competing in track and field. In his high school football career, Hunter-Johnson was an offensive lineman for Vermillion High School and helped the Tanagers to a 6-4overall record in 2008. For the SD Mines track and field squad, Hunter-Johnson will be utilized in the throwing events. With his size and frame he should make an immediate impact to the Hardrocker roster.

Zach was apart of the 2006 and 2008 state championship Wyoming team from Gillette. He was also named the 2008 lineman of the year as well as earning all-conference and all state honors. Zach says he has played football since the third grade and loves to hunt and fish.

Shane was a real gem for the Hardrockers to find. He has very impressive football skills and is sure to be an immediate asset to the SD Mines offensive line. Shane has received many honors, including: an all-league selection, all CIF selection and most valuable lineman award. Shane says he is a firm believer in God and strives to do his best in all he does.



#31	Donovan Brill	Freshman

Donovan is the younger brother of standout linebacker Everett Brill who will be a junior this season. Donovan finished his senior season for the Elko High School Indians with 32 catches for 541 yards and scored five touchdowns. He also has four interceptions to his credit as defensive back. For his 2008 performance he was named the All County Football Squad and also made the Northern 4A All Region Honorable Mention list.

Josh is a multi-sport athlete excelling in not only football, but wrestling and track as well. He received third place at the SD state wrestling tournament in his weight class and was apart of the sixth-place team of the 400-meter Relay at the state track meet. In football, he was a member of the state runners-up team. He was a team captain for track and wrestling. When not playing sports, Josh likes to hunt and fish and play X-box.

Jaryd was all-state in basketball as a junior and senior mad was all-league in track and basketball as well. Jaryd is also a member of the SDSMT choir.

Munson was a standout lineman for the Century High School Patriots in Bismarck, N.D. Standing 6-foot-2-inches and weighing 245 pounds, Munson filled multiple positions for CHS, spending time on the offensive line at defensive end and also at the tight end positions.
