RAPID CITY --- The South Dakota School of Mines football team will be hitting the town Wednesday afternoon in an effort to promote Hardrocker Football and the 2012 season which begins at the end of the month. The promotion is called "Rock'er' the City."

The SD Mines football team, consisting of 90 players and coaches will be visiting local businesses all over Rapid City, promoting the Hardrocker football team and program as well as delivering posters and pocket schedules in an effort to get the community excited about the Hardrockers and the upcoming campaign.

Members of the 'Rocker football team will make stops in the Downtown area, Rushmore Crossing, Lacrosse/Haines Ave. area, Bakken Park and the Rushmore Mall from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m.

SD Mines opens the 2012 season in Grand Forks, N.D. against NCAA Div. I University of North Dakota Aug. 30.
