Cougars too much for SD Mines men, 69-49

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. --- The South Dakota School of Mines men's basketball team fell to the University of Sioux Falls, 60-49, Saturday night in Sioux Falls, marking the second loss in a row for the Hardrockers as their record stands at 1-2 on the young season.

The Hardrockers converted 15-47 from the field Saturday while the Cougars made good on 25-65 from the field.

SD Mines senior AJ Trennopolh led his team in scoring with 10 points while freshman Phillip Schanilec cashed in for nine points, freshman Troy Whiteto added eight points and junior Caleb Shockman was good for seven markers.

The Hardrockers are back in action Tuesday when they travel to Spearfish to take on Black Hills State in a 7:30 p.m. matchup.
