ESPANOLA, N.M. --- The South Dakota School of Mines men's basketball team fell to the Northern New Mexico College Eagles, 64-57, Friday night in Espanola, N.M., and broke a four-game winning streak in the process.
It was a close contest throughout as NNMC led by three at the half, 29-26, and the outscored the Hardrockers, 35-31, in the second period.
SD Mines shot 36 percent from the field Friday, making good on 20-55 baskets while the Eagles posted 26-60 shots for 43 percent.
The loss drops the Hardrockers to 13-8 on the season and SD Mines will next travel to Denver, Colo., Sunday to face Johnson and Wales University in a 3 p.m. game.
